In October 2018, in collaboration with Mount Allison University and the Centre for Digital Humanities, Ryerson University held On The Properties of Things: Collective Knowledge and the Objects of the Museum, which brought together academic researchers of museums, museum professionals, and museum-based cultural workers, who were interested in developing new, connective ways of engaging with the museum as both an institutional structure and an idea. Through playfully-themed panels, roundtables, and workshops this event facilitated cultural and disciplinary exchanges aimed at fruitfully informing how we understand museums and their objects.
